Ageless Wonder
Medium: wood, metal, glass, latex, acrylic, epoxy resin, gold leaf, time, and LOVE
This piece began in 2013 as a canvas to wipe my brushes off with. Later, I experimented with different materials in my works, and so I sprinkled pieces of a glass from a broken car windshield in with the paint. Time rolled on, that way it does, and more layers were added. Until 2017 and I placed half a birdcage on the canvas, along with a layer of two hues of blue. Gold leaf was placed haphazardly to express mans unyeilding stress for conspicuous consumption. 1 cm of epoxy resin was poured on top so the piece will outlive EVERYONE EVER. I made the frame askew because there is no such thing as a straight line and everything needs a little character anyway.
